Title: Freedom.
Year: February 2000.
Materials: Acrylic on Canson carton.
Behind the Brush: Three horses having three colors. Three promising runners. Three vivid desert-dwellers. Three on their way to adventure and maybe more. Life with horses has another taste and a very different flavor. When you are near such powerful beasts, you ought to act as a powerful person. When you feel their unbounded freedom, you unleash your lurking liberty!!
I have been always fond of the Cowboys life, but had no chance to experience anything related to their mode of life. Yet, we always tend to dream of what we do not possess ... this what makes a dream a dream.
So, this painting is a dream. The three-colored horses represent the most famous colors of horses, thus, representing life in the desert and what the term connotes.

I was always fond of horses. This animal is not only beautiful, but it represents for me "dignity and nobless", in addition to "freedom" as you justly pointed out.
I had seen many horses and had the opportunity to ride one twice in my life, during a visit to Petra in Jordan. I still cherish the memory of this close encounter.
Back to the painting:
I love the warm colors that you used that also suit the desert theme. I like the pose of the three horses. They look powerful. They're calm, but they seem ready to move at any minute. I can even almost feel the swiftness of there movements.
We all dream of such freedom and power. We all long for it. Even if there are some "external" obstacles for being free, we still can live with a free spirit and enjoy the liberty of free thinking ;-)
A real nice painting.
Let's see the rest buddy!
At last ...
A painting with admiration ..
:-P
..
I like the view of Horses .. they are a difficult subject to draw .. Some painters have special focus for horses and they study the anatomy of them .. which is more or less similar to the human body's.
But riding it ... mmm .. nah .. I have tried it once .. and I didn't like it ..
..
..
They are symbols of freedom .. and yes .. symbols of Dignity .. I like the way they run .. I like the way they gallop .. it is full with Pride and Power!!
..
